The Travel Channel lists Australia in their TOP 10 Bucket List destinations. With the lure of snorkeling in the Great Barrier Reef, hiking in the Outback, and seeing a concerts at the Sydney Opera House it’s pretty easy to see why it’s on the Bucket List of so many adventurers! I am a certified Aussie Specialist and visited “The Land Down Under” in 2015. I’ve seen crocodiles jump out of the water and fight each other to grab some chicken. I’ve taken a helmet dive into the Great Barrier Reef to see the beauty that exists beneath the waves. And I’ve even held an adorable koala! If you are interested in making some of these dreams come true for you, please contact me!

Helmet Dive at the Great Barrier Reef
Australia is a place that so many dream about! Recently I was given an incredible opportunity to go to Queensland and the Northern Territory - the “Top End” of Australia, and the land of Crocodile Dundee. I admit that I was nervous and excited about the long flight but it turned out to be much better than I expected with very comfortable seats, some movies, and some long naps!
In Queensland, Quicksilver Cruises took me to Agincourt Reef on The Great Barrier Reef where I did a helmet dive. This was a great way to see the fish and the beautiful coral…while still being able to wear my glasses and not get my hair wet! Afterwards, I did a scenic helicopter flight where I was able to get some amazing pictures of the reef below.
In Brisbane, I visited the Lone Pine Koala Sanctuary where I fed kangaroos, saw dingoes, wombats, emus, and many beautiful birds. I was even able to hold a koala! The sanctuary allows koalas to be held briefly for a photo which is actually quite rare. Monies paid for these photos go towards the sanctuary to help build new enclosures, research projects, and eucalyptus plantations.
In the Northern Territories, Jumping Crocodile Cruises took me through the outback on the Adelaide River. Huge saltwater crocodiles launch themselves out of the water to claim meat that’s dangled over the edge of the boat! At Kakadu National Park I saw aboriginal rock art dating back thousands of years as well as spectacular waterfalls and billabong.
